Camellia sinensis is native to China and the same plant has been used for the production of white tea, green tea and black tea for thousands of years.
Green Tea is famous for being high in polyphenols and antioxidants.
This antioxidants reduces inflammation and cell damage caused by free radicals, and plays a role in anti-aging, and helps with diseases.
It contains caffeine but has a wonderful, smooth natural flavour that is best enjoyed when brewed at 80 degrees Celsius as the white and green tea is more delicate and lowers the bitter flavours that arise if the water scorches the leaves. I like my tea very hot so if you boil it then allow it to cool off for 5 minutes before using it, that should help.
The caffeine helps to improve brain functions and crosses the blood brain barrier.
It boosts metabolism and fat burning for weight loss.
Antibacterial it helps fight Streptococcus mutans a form of bad breath caused plaque causing teeth decay.
Improves insulin sensitivity which lowers blood sugar serum levels.
Poor quality and lower grade products contain excessive amounts of fluoride, which can be harmful.
