FEMALE GINSENG is also known as Angelic Sinensis and Dong Quai from Traditional Chinese Medicine, and is a fragrant plant with a cluster of small white flowers and it belongs to the same botanical family as carrots and celery.
It’s properties are anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, antispasmodic and anti-viral and has been used to enrich the blood and promote circulation and help regulate the immune system. Commonly used as a digestive tonic for the stomach, to enhance concentration and memory and to detoxify the liver and stabilise hormones and menstrual disorders with both a stimulating and relaxing action on uterine tissue, and in the treatment of dysmenorrhea and endometriosis for cramps and pain. It can treat headaches and migraines, cardiovascular system and expectorant. It is a blood and digestive tonic and has been found to have with men an anti-depressant effect and a positive impact on mood according to a study on 28th October, 2017. It can help with sperm quality and viability due to an antioxidant found in Dong Quai known as ferulic acid as a herbal cream found effective with premature ejaculation from a study on 19th July 2021.
Generally the benefit from using this starts to take affect after 4 weeks and is enhanced after 12 weeks and in combination with other herbs can help with menstrual cramps and menopause. It does not produce estrogen-like responses in endometrial thickness and vaginal wall efficacy.
